See demand by date and submit booking requests
If a venue declines your request, it moves from the Pending tab to the Declined tab in your bookings. There's no penalty to your account — you're free to request other venues right away. On the declined booking you'll see a Join waitlist option: if the venue's date later becomes available (due to a cancellation or change of plans), you'll be notified and can submit a new request. Declined requests can be archived once you're done with them.
Cancellations can happen on either side, or automatically if payment isn't completed within 48 hours of approval. Either way, the booking moves to the Cancelled tab in your bookings, and the date is released back to the venue's calendar. You can use the Rebook a date → button on any cancelled booking to return to that venue's listing and request a different date. Refund timing follows the venue's cancellation policy and GigNVenue's cancellation terms, both of which you acknowledged at the time of booking.
Search for venues on the main page, open the venue profile for any listing that looks right, and click "Request to book." Fill in your event details — type, date, expected attendance, and any notes — verify that you've reviewed the venue's terms, and submit. The host reviews your request and you'll receive a notification once they respond, usually within 1–2 business days. Although you'll see the exact numbers due upon booking approval, no payment is required at this stage.
Yes. You can send requests to multiple venues for the same date simultaneously — there's no penalty for doing so while you're still deciding. If a venue approves your request and you complete payment, any other pending requests for that same date are automatically cancelled and noted in your booking history — so you can revisit those venues for next time.
Hosts are strongly encouraged to respond within 1–2 business days. If a host hasn't responded in that time, you're completely free, as always, to request other venues — and you can cancel a request at any time with no penalty to your account and no obligation to wait indefinitely.
You'll receive a notification that your booking has been approved. You then have 48 hours to complete payment — a 20% venue deposit plus a 5% booking fee, the same figures you saw before submitting your request. Once payment is received, your date is locked and confirmed. If payment isn't completed within 48 hours, the approval expires and the date becomes available again on the venue's calendar.
The deposit is 20% of the venue's listed nightly rate. It's collected by GigNVenue when you book and held securely until after your event. Within 24 hours of the show playing off, the deposit is released to the venue — GigNVenue's 5% platform fee (calculated on the nightly rate) is collected at that point. The deposit hold protects both you and the venue; you're not paying it twice — it's just held and then released.
Your booking fee is 5% of the venue's listed nightly rate, collected when you book. It's non-refundable and covers payment processing, platform infrastructure, and support. Venue owners pay their own 5% only after a show successfully plays off — they retain 95% of their nightly rate. Cost is shared fairly between both sides; neither side pays until the platform delivers. Browsing and submitting requests is always free.
Yes, just click the heart icon wherever you see it and it will be stored in your Saved Venues. Access them anytime from the Saved Venues section in your dashboard. It's a great way to build a shortlist before you're ready to commit to a date.
Saving a venue also keeps you in the loop — when a venue you've saved posts a Featured Night (a proactively promoted date, sometimes at a special rate), you'll see an alert on your dashboard Overview so you can browse and request before the date is taken.
Coming soon. Tour Planner is in active development. It will let you add multiple stops — city + date — for an upcoming tour, browse available venues for each stop, and submit booking requests to all of them in one go. For now, browse venues city by city and submit individual requests. Use the "Suggest a venue" option to nominate a space in any market you're touring.
Our support team is available via the contact page. You can also browse the full Help Center for more detailed answers.
The remaining venue balance is settled directly with the venue on the day of your event. Your deposit is held securely by GigNVenue and released to the venue after the event is completed.
Let the venue know you won't be proceeding — it frees up their date for other artists and keeps your reliability score intact.
